I am always trapped in a white room
with a mysterious red button in front of me.
I never understood why
I am here,
or what the button means.
Sometimes, I am tempted
to press that alluring red button.
Because they say it could
set me free from here.
I am curious,
but I don’t care.
This room is comfortable
yet bizarre.
The walls do not speak,
yet they record every time I blink.
I sit again, watching the light bounce off the walls.
This room demands nothing from me,
yet I remain trapped.
What should I do?
Press the button?
The button stares back at me.
It is the only object
with color.
Sometimes I wonder,
is it waiting for me,
or am I deliberately letting it wait?
I do not press the button.
Not out of fear,
not out of hope.
I simply stand here,
letting time
do what it always does to me.
Maybe in the end,
I’ll be destined to press this button
even though I don’t want to.
